Tate Black’s Horrendous Ordeal

DOOL spoilers reveal that Tate was given Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome (SORAS) along with Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis).

Fans have grown to really love Tate, especially after everything he’s going through because of Holly’s drug overdose. Just when Tate is about to get released thanks to Holly’s confession, there will be a recast.

Fans can expect to see Jamie play Tate for a few more days. The actor’s replacement won’t be airing until Friday, April 5, 2024.

That will come around the same time as Holly being doled out consequences from EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Nicole Walker-DiMera (Arianne Zucker).

Now that Tate is going to be played by Leo Howard, TV Insider revealed a few tidbits about the DOOL newcomer.

This is the actor’s first gig on a soap opera, but his mother is a die-hard General Hospital fan, and Leo’s grandma was a die-hard Days of Our Lives viewer.

Leo got bit by the acting bug at a young age and had supportive parents. In fact, by the age of 7, Leo was cast in the hit TV show, Monk.

By 11, Leo played a young Jason Momoa in Conan the Barbarian. Then, at 13, Leo snagged the lead in Disney XD series, Kickin’ It.

Leo also has earned a Guinness World Record for being the youngest person ever to direct a TV series.

As for what to expect from the new Tate, Leo told the publication,

“Tate is in a very defining point in his life; he’s not quite an adult but he’s not a kid. He has had kind of a tumultuous childhood in life with both of his parents and in and out of rehab and a lot of money around, which sometimes doesn’t cause people to do the best things. He’s had a kind of a rough go of it. He’s 17, and it’s not where you want to be at 17, all the while trying to explore being in love for the first time with Holly. So it’s fun for me to get to explore that because it’s been a little while since I’ve been that age.”
