John Black (Drake Hogestyn), Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) arrive to perform an exorcism on Allie. However, the devil surprises everyone by jumping into Tripp.

Then, the devil threatens to kill Allie if the exorcism is performed. Once Tripp is possessed, the devil tries to get him to murder Allie. It’s a struggle for Tripp but he is able to resist the devil’s demand.

In the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, actor Lucas Adams explains that Tripp makes a bold move. To stop the devil’s madness and prevent anyone else from getting hurt, Tripp jumps to his death. Before you get too upset, there is a twist in this storyline.

It is teased that Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) is unable to save Tripp’s life. Everyone is devastated to learn about Tripp’s death. However, some divine intervention could be on the way to bring him back.

If this twist sounds familiar to long-time fans, it’s because a similar thing happened in the original possession story. Marlena died during her exorcism and John begged for it to be him. Some divine intervention stepped in and as fans know, John and Marlena are both alive and well today.
