He ended up starting a conversation with her and walked her home. Even though the memories are fuzzy, Allie seems to think that the man who raped her was Tripp. But is there another explanation?

The fact that Allie was extremely intoxicated that night might play a factor in her being confused about which man raped her. It seems that if Tripp is innocent, then another man must have been lurking nearby, just watching and waiting. Once Tripp was far enough away, the man went up and raped Allie. But because Allie was so drunk and only remembers a man being on top of her, simply assumes that it is Tripp.
