Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Marlena Evans Is Notified That Jan Spears Has Come Out Of Her Coma

Days of Our Lives viewers will recall that Jan has been in a coma since she crashed Shawn and Belle Brady’s (Brandon Beemer, Martha Madison) wedding at Marlena and John’s home. John went into a rage when the Shawn-obsessed Jan all of a sudden showed up at Shawn and Belle’s wedding, wearing Belle’s dress! Belle was nowhere to be found, as Jan had surprised her and gotten an advantage over her, leaving Belle tied up while Jan replaced her at her wedding!

Shawn had to pull John off of Jan as he tried to strangle the life out of her as he had wrestled her down into a chair. If Shawn had not pulled John’s hands-off Jan’s neck when he did, Jan would have not just been in a coma for months, she would have been dead! Marlena, as one of the doctors who works both at Salem University Hospital and Bayview, the mental health hospital, is of course on the list to know when a patient comes out of a coma, and even if Jan is not her patient she would be informed by Shawn, who would be notified through police and legal channels since Jan has a police record. Now that Jan is out of her coma, Marlena worries to what extent Jan has recovered and if she is capable of taking revenge on John for choking her!

DOOL Spoilers – Jan Spears Does Not Have A History Of Stability, To Say The Least

Longtime Days of Our Lives viewers will recall that Jan Spears does not have a history of stability, to say the least, and Marlena has good reason to be worried! Jan is a former patient of hers, however. Even as a teenager Jan had a sketchy history, and was one of the bad girls who took pornographic photos of Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) and plastered them all over the internet.

Chloe sued them. Jan hooked up with an abusive boyfriend but when she finally got fed up with him she turned to Nicole Walker Brady’s (Arianne Zucker) father, Paul Mendez (David Carrera) who was a shady individual who thought she was photogenic and promised to make her a star. All she got out of that deal was a rape which resulted in a STD and a baby!

That was about the time she met Shawn. He tried to help her, and had talked her into keeping her baby and they were going to get married. But Shawn had been dating Belle also at that time and she didn’t like that idea at all. Jan lost the baby, they didn’t marry, and she left Salem. This was where Jan’s obsession with Shawn likely started. The next time she returned to Salem her parents were dead and left her a lot of money.

This was when she tried to kill Days Of Our Lives Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) with a hairdryer in his bath, at the behest of Nicole. Jan sought help from Marlena, but was just using her to get close to Shawn and Belle to break them up! Jan eventually kidnapped Shawn and tortured him with telling him Belle was getting back with Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson). Jan disappeared from Salem again and was in a fifteen-year coma after tripping and hitting her head on a rock, and kidnapped Shawn a second time. (This happened on the internet series “Last Blast Reunion). Then she was arrested and sent to a high-security mental institution, after which Sami DiMera (Alison Sweeney) got her released! No wonder Marlena is worried!
