Casey Moss’ Final Air Date

DOOL spoilers from the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest confirm Moss will make his final appearance on February 18, 2020.

The actor joined the soap back in 2013 and has gone through a lot of emotional storylines. Some of these include the deaths of not one, but two lovers. First, Paige Larson (True O’Brien) was murdered and more recently, Haley Chen (Thia Megia) was pushed down a flight of stairs by Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk).

JJ also attempted suicide on Christmas, dabbled in drug dealing as a youth and then became addicted to pain pills when he got older. Then, there was the whole affair with his teen girlfriend’s mom, Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva).

DOOL Spoilers: JJ Deveraux’s Exit Storyline

JJ’s exit storyline will have him leaving Salem and traveling to Africa. The reason is due to Bill Horton’s (Edward Mallory) death. The funeral will be in Africa.

What is interesting about this is that Theo Carver (formerly Kyler Pettis) went to South Africa to get treatment for his leg after JJ’s police shooting. Could they end up in the same area and could it lead to Theo’s return to Salem? Or is this just a coincidence?

Other Actors Saying Goodbye

Moss joins other actors who are saying goodbye or being released from their contacts. These include Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez), Chandler Massey (Will Horton) and Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis). Fans are not happy that so many of their favorites are leaving, but there could be a good reason.

The soap was recently renewed but there were heavy negotiations. It took longer than usual for the renewal to happen and while talks were happening, everyone’s contacts were released. all the four soaps on American TV sets, Days Of Our Lives has the lowest budget. There is speculation that the renewal came with an agreement to change the budget. That would mean they would have to cut costs somewhere and the most expensive item are actor salaries.

Fans React To Losing Favorite Characters

However, fans are upset that legendary characters and fan-favorite actors are being cut out of the soap. Viewers would rather see the core characters stay and minor ones leave. Of course, the terminations could be for a completely different reason. If so, we would love to hear it because we are having a hard time understanding the multiple losses to daytime TV.
