Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Why Johnny & Chanel Exit Salem, Here’s Why Duo’s Forced Out of Town?

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) could have troubling news ahead that he’s decided to stick with the DiMera CEO position.

Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens) ultimately gave her approval since she knows Johnny wants to stick around and clean up the lawsuit mess he made.

Plus, Chanel is starting to realize that the more she tries to come between Johnny and EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), the more her husband wants a relationship with his father.

Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) wasn’t happy to hear that Chanel was basically backing down. In Days’ April 9 episode, concerns were addressed about Johnny either destroying himself on the DiMera throne or becoming just like his dad.

Johnny could indeed turn into EJ 2.0 if that’s what DOOL writers have in mind. Although Johnny claims he’ll bolt at the first sign of anything illegal or immoral, that may not turn out to be true.

Johnny could get tangled up in shady business practices and become just as bad as EJ in terms of how low he’s willing to sink. It’s easy to see how Johnny’s desire for revenge over this situation at Titan could fuel his worst DiMera tendencies.

With Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) will coming up, there might be something that catches Johnny off guard.

Johnny might learn that Stefano had high hopes for him to follow in his footsteps and could receive some gift that Stefano left for him long before he died.

Naturally, it’s possible EJ could plant something in the will to keep Johnny on the sinister DiMera road he’s potentially headed down.

Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) also intends to target Johnny as part of her EJ takedown plot, so that’s another route to trouble on Days. It just feels like Johnny’s life is probably going to be a mess by the time all this plays out.

Johnny also made it clear to EJ that he’ll be done for good if his dad dares to hurt Chanel again. After the way EJ treated Chanel at Johnny’s trial, Johnny certainly doesn’t want a repeat of that.

Days writers could be setting up a situation where Johnny embraces his DiMera side, but then EJ may cross the line one too many times with Chanel.

That could play a role in why Johnny and Chanel leave Salem since we know they’ll indeed be making their on-air departures several months from now.

What if Johnny and Chanel decide the only way they’ll have real peace is to start over somewhere far away from EJ and all this DiMera drama? It’s an option to consider as we mull over what the future holds for Chanel, Johnny and their family.
