DOOL spoilers reveal that ever since Gwen (Emily O’Brien) moved into the DiMera mansion, she has been dropping hints about Abigail (Marci Miller) and Jake Lambert DiMera (Brandon Barash). These were just little seeds being planted and Chad (Billy Flynn) believed them all. By the time New Year’s Eve came around, Gwen was ready to drop the big bomb on Chad. She told him his worst nightmare and because there were all those other seeds previously, it was easy for Chad to believe he had been betrayed.
DOOL Spoilers – Chad DiMera Felt Entitled
Speaking to Soaps.com, head writer Ron Carlivati defends Chad sleeping with Gwen. He explains that even though Abigail was innocent of cheating, Chad didn’t know that. Gwen had done a brilliant job of watering those tiny little seeds for months. So, when she dropped the big bombshell, it was a total shock for Chad. She simply confirmed his worst fear and Carlivati said that Chad felt “entitled” to cheat. But now Chad realizes that he was lied to and tricked by the manipulative nanny.
Gwen’s not the only reason for Chad cheating, though. He already had issues with Abigail’s faithfulness because of the “Gabigail” storyline and what happened with Stefan DiMera (also played by Brandon Barash).

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Gwen is sure that her cheating bombshell will destroy Abigail’s marriage. While it might in the beginning, everyone now realizes that was Gwen’s intent from the beginning. Will Abigail really let Gwen win? As mad as she is with Chad, winning against someone like Gwen might mean more to her. What would get under Gwen’s skin more than anything right now? If Chad and Abigail actually stayed together.

Carlivati teased of what to expect of Chad and Abigail’s future, “Yeah, it’s not going to be easy, but I will say that this couple really does love each other and has been through so much that, yes, maybe an ordinary couple would be destroyed by this. But just to give a little hope out there, Abigail and Chad have been through absolutely everything and have weathered it.”
