Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Will Joey Johnson Be Set Free With The Return Of A Not So Dead Ava Vitali?

Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease that in Salem Joey Johnson (James Lastovic) could be set free once his mother, the not so dead Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) is revealed to be alive!

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Joey Johnson Has Been In Prison For Murdering His Mother

Longtime Days of Our Lives viewers will recall that Joey Johnson, the son of Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) has been in prison for several years. He was convicted of murdering Tripp Dalton’s (Lucas Adams) mother, Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) by smothering her with her pillow when she was in the hospital. He had been working with her to orchestrate his parents’ reunion and had become romantically attached to her – he even kissed her once!

But he became very angry when he realized Ava was only using him, and he was filled with rage and a desire for revenge! He had no idea that Ava had an affair with his father many years ago, which of course produced Tripp. Joey (James Lastovic) did the crime, and so he has been doing the time-but little does he or anyone else in Salem except a few people know Ava is, in fact, alive and in Salem now! Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) knows, he’s been plotting with her to launder money through Titan Industries.

It’s possible Xander Kirkakis (Paul Telfer) knows – he helped Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) rescue patients from Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (William Utay) “resurrection warehouse” in Nashville as well as Rolf himself, and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford). Ava was behind the door that had “AV” on it. It’s also possible that Nicole Walker Brady (Arianne Zucker) may have seen the door, although she herself was trapped in the explosion and thought dead for several years. She likely could not have known anything other than that she may have suspected Ava was behind the door!

DOOL Spoilers – Ava Vitali Is Indeed Alive And Kicking And In Salem, And Still With A Torch For Steve!

Viewers will recall that Ava revealed herself in a recent episode of Days of Our Lives, to her partner Philip, to who she gave some stern advice. It’s obvious she still has a torch for Steve; she has a photo of him on her phone and in a Friday cliffhanger episode, was shown at Steve’s door debating whether to knock or not! It’s only a matter of time before someone will spot her and realize Joey needs to be set free! With Xander’s suspicions and Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) becoming suspicious of who Philip’s secret partner is, the discovery will probably happen sooner than later! Sarah will begin spying on Philip, working with Xander to help save his job at Titan by getting Philip fired. Xander already told Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) that Philip had been moving money around, but that didn’t raise Victor’s suspicions.

He just told him if Philip was moving money that Philip knew what he was doing. Sarah will see Ava – and even snap a photo of him and Ava together – but she may not know who Ava is or anything about Joey. She left town with her sister in 1991 and didn’t return until 2018. However, once someone sees the photo who does know about Joey and recognizes Ava, then something can be done about freeing Joey from prison. Whoever that person is will then likely tell either Tripp or Steve, or possibly Kayla!
