Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Will Kayla Still Be Waiting For Steve When He Returns?

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that sometime in the near future Steve (Stephen Nichols) will finally return to Salem. But has he forgiven Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) for keeping secrets from him that inadvertently led to him being charged and arrested for treason? And has he now been gone so long that Kayla has given up on him.

Steve and Kayla were very happy after several years of an on again off again relationship. But when Steve suddenly went blind, Kayla was frantic to help him get his eyesight back. She made a deal with Stephan (Brandon Barash) without Steve’s knowledge to get access to a bionic eye prototype that could allow Steve to see again.

The procedure worked and Steve was kept in the dark about how Kayla made a deal with Stefan, who Steve hates. Kayla didn’t think Steve would agree to the procedure if he knew of Stefan’s involvement. Kayla and Stefan kept that secret, and for a time Stefan blackmailed Kayla when he needed something from the hospital records. She had to give him Abigail’s (then Marci Miller) medical records when he needed proof she was pregnant.

Apparently the bionic eye also had a camera installed in it, and pictures were taken of everything Steve could see and sent to an unknown location. Steve is an ISA agent and had access to many confidential documents and other things involving national security.

He had no idea the information he was seeing was being transmitted to someone else. Kayla also had no idea the bionic eye had such a capable. Stefan denied any knowledge of the incident and was cleared of any wrong doing. But if not him, then who?

Off screen, Steve was arrested for treason. He was eventually cleared but did not return home. Instead he has been helping to find out who was behind the whole thing. Kayla has also wondered if he was staying away because of what she did without his knowledge. They have spoken over the phone, but the distance between them growing each day that they remain apart. But what will happen when Steve finally comes home.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – His Absence Has Been Hard On Kayla Brady

Steve may understand what Kayla did was an act of love, but the secrets and lies may have kept him from coming back to her. The fact that she betrayed Abigail will probably also be a hard thing for Steve to forget. He ultimately loves her very much, and a lot of time has passed so he may be ready to forgive and forget. But will Kayla?

No matter how upset he was, staying away this long has been very hard for Kayla. She may not just accept Steve back with open arms, even if he is ready. These two have a lot of issues to work to do, and healing can only begin if Steve is present.

Steve and Kayla should eventually be able to get through this, but in the meantime viewers should expect a lot of emotional scenes between them.
