Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Kristian Alfonso shocked fans when she announced her exit from the NBC soap opera. She left suddenly and with open scripts, so Hope Brady had to leave Salem off-screen. The actress said that she would not be coming back to DOOL, but could we see her on another soap?

Kristian Alfonso Announces Departure

DOOL spoilers reveal that when production shut down, it was assumed that everyone would return when filming resumed. That last day on set is when Kristian Alfonso made the decision to leave, but hadn’t told anyone yet. During the shutdown, it was eventually announced that filming would start back up in September. That is when Alfonso went on social media to announce she would not be coming back to the set.

DOOL Spoilers: Missing Hope Brady

Since Alfonso didn’t tell anyone she wasn’t coming back, her exit scenes could not be filmed. She wouldn’t return, not even to give Hope a proper farewell storyline. So, the writers had to find a way to explain Hope’s absence using other characters. It has only been a few months, but Salem isn’t the same without Hope.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that a lot of actors have left and said they would never come back. Alfonso knew that people would lump her in that category. She wanted to be perfectly clear about her decision and intentions. Alfonso has no plans on every coming back, not even for one tiny scene. The actress was not sure what was in her future, but knew it wasn’t DOOL.

Alfonso did say at one point that her entire life centered around the soap. She wanted to do what was best for her health. One thing about DOOL is that the actors have a hectic schedule and it seems to never let up. She has passions and even a jewelry business that have been put on the back burner. So, leaving the soap allows her to work on those, spend time with family and friends, as well as do some cooking!

Since all soaps tend to have heavy schedules, we don’t think that Alfonso will go that direction. She seems to want more freedom than soaps allow and work when she wants to, not because she’s tied down. Instead of soaps, we see her pursuing movies and maybe even Hallmark. She already joined Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) on a Hallmark production. She looked so happy and carefree that we think she would do more Hallmark. We do not expect her to sign on with another soap in the near future.
