In a world in which Salemites have deal with lookalikes, doppelgangers, twins, masks and the like, why aren’t more residents concerned?

The only person that seems to really suspect something is wrong is Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). When Princess Gina came to their door on Halloween, everyone accepted that she was Hope. However, Marlena narrowed her eyes, like she suspected something was very wrong with the situation. She just doesn’t know exactly what it is yet. This is why she rode Hope so hard about the cigarettes. It was a clue, but it hasn’t dawned on Marlena yet why the smoking seems so familiar.

It is hinted that some Salemites will eventually figure out the truth. However, will it be too late by then? It is also indicated that Hope might still be Princess Gina after the time jump.
