Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) has just announced that the reading of Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) last will and testament is finally upon us.
EJ believes this could stir up trouble for him and his siblings—could he be correct; is chaos on the horizon for Salem one final time, courtesy of Stefano?
EJ And His Siblings Finally Laid Stefano To Rest
EJ and his siblings Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis), Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), and nephew Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) finally laid Stefano’s remains to rest.
Even though their dad had been missing for years and presumed dead, only Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) knew for certain that Stefano had passed away; Kristen discovered his bones.
And then Theo and Chad helped excavate them while they were trying to dig their way out of the crypt.
Dr. Rolf had interred Stefano remains in the mausoleum. But we just found out that local criminal Liam Selejko (Hank Northrop) was hired by Vivian Alamain’s (Louise Sorel) henchman, Klaus (Bassel Alzsaro), to move supplies into the mausoleum.
Liam Claimed He Dropped The Sarcophagus, Spilling The Bones So He Buried Them
Liam claimed he accidentally spilled a sarcophagus, scattering the bones, so he buried them in the dirt; Rafe had the bones DNA tested by the FBI, confirming they belonged to Stefano DiMera. EJ, Kristen, Chad, and Tony invited Johnny and Theo to say goodbye to Nonno Stefano.
They held a simple memorial at the DiMera mansion for anyone who wanted to pay respects or vent about EJ’s father. Stefano caused years of pain for many in Salem; the memorial even stirred up family drama.
Stefano’s grandsons, Theo and Johnny, mourned the loss of a caring grandfather, but his children had mixed feelings, each sibling having a unique relationship with their father.
Kristen And Peter Were Adopted, And Tony As Well Although He Wasn’t Formally Adopted
Kristen and Peter Blake (Dan Gauthier) were adopted by Stefano, who essentially took them; they inherited his worst traits, both Kristen and Peter resented Stefano and his biological kids.
Then there’s Tony, who knows EJ was their father’s favorite; Tony wasn’t a biological child of Stefano but was treated like one.
Still, Stefano didn’t want Tony in charge of DiMera Corporation or his estate; it’s odd that Stefano lacked faith in Tony, even though Tony worked hard to reclaim DiMera Enterprises for the family.
Meanwhile, Chad has left Salem with his kids, Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) and Charlotte DiMera (Autumn Gendron), for a few months.
A recast Chad and Thomas will appear in April, so Chad will miss the will reading; he isn’t interested in DiMera or the family business; he’s content at the Spectator.
Stefano Could Have Left A Significant Inheritance, But Many Of His Children Are Gone
Yet, Stefano could have left a significant inheritance for Chad or the kids; many of Stefano’s other children are deceased, with Peter being the most recent.
Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) was held captive by Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) until his death, but fans find that hard to believe.
A DNA test was done on Stefan’s remains, but Vivian could have switched Jake DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) remains with Stefan’s; as twins, they would share a DNA match.
It wouldn’t have been difficult to remove Jake’s remains from the DiMera crypt with no one noticing-yet, no one’s checked!
EJ Inherited The Phoenix Ring
Even though the will states otherwise, it’s clear that EJ DiMera is Stefano’s chosen heir; only he and Dr. Wilhelm Rolf are aware of this. By the time Dr. Rolf arrived at the mausoleum with a special gift for EJ from his father, EJ’s siblings had already left.
Dr. Rolf mentioned that Stefano wanted him to give EJ his original Phoenix ring when the moment was right, and he decided that moment had come.
EJ hasn’t informed his family about receiving the ring directly from Stefano; it has been seen, but not by his siblings yet.
The will might also mention EJ receiving the ring, which could reveal the truth-in the meantime, Kristen or Tony might notice him wearing it and react.
EJ Is Concerned His Father May Cause Chaos From Beyond The Grave
Currently, EJ is concerned that his father might cause chaos from beyond the grave one last time; he believes the will will create conflict among Stefano DiMera’s children: Kristen, Tony, Chad, and himself.
There’s also the possibility of Megan Hathaway (Miranda C. Wilson) and her son Dimitri Von Leuschner (Peter Porte) being involved.
If Stefan was set to inherit, Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jiminez) could also claim a significant part of the estate since her divorce from Stefan was fake and invalid.
Stefan and Gabi were not on good terms when he was taken by Vivian and brought to Alamainia, where she altered the divorce documents. None of them liked Stefan or his twin, Jake, and they were seen as lesser DiMeras.
EJ And The DiMeras Would Contest The Will If Gabi Or “Lesser DiMeras” Are In It
EJ and others would contest the will, trying to prevent Gabi from getting her share; it’s assumed EJ will lead the family.
Tony is the oldest, but EJ was the favorite; Stefano might say everyone shares equally, but that’s not typical for the Phoenix.
Plus, loyal employees like Dr. Rolf and Rita Lesley (Maggie Carney) will get something from Stefano’s will.
If Lexie Carver (Reneé Jones) is revived, they may need to adjust the estate to include her, though she might not want it.
We’ll see if the grandkids Stefano knew about are in the will, along with provisions for any born later-it’s doubtful Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens) will let Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) take any DiMera money.
EJ Expects Chaos
EJ expects chaos, so it’s possible there’s a strange Hunger Games aspect to the inheritance; not a literal fight to the death-though it is Stefano DiMera, so who knows? It might be a competition for the biggest share, it would be a clever final game from their dad.
Stefano may also have unusual bequests, like something for Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), his ‘Queen of the Night.’ He might leave that robotic eyeball if he knew about it.
Dr. Rolf said Stefano died, but we’re not sure when, as it was after everyone thought he had. The timeline of when Stefano passed is a bit unclear.
