Xander needed help keeping Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) in Salem. Desperate, he contacted Dr. Rolf for help. He wanted the mad scientist to drop off Sarah’s pregnancy test results to Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan). However, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) intercepted. Plus, Xander started to have second thoughts about his plan.
Despite Xander’s doubts, Dr. Rolf wasn’t going to be an errand boy without getting something in return. The use of one of the Titan labs was promised in exchange for the scientist’s help. Now, Dr. Rolf can continue working on all his secret projects.

Obviously, Xander never thought about the repercussions of his promise. He also didn’t consider what Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) would think about the arrangement.
When Dr. Rolf arrived at the Kiriakis mansion, Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) and Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) were in the middle of a heated discussion. Maggie knows that her daughter isn’t telling her everything. In a sense, Sarah was saved from the pregnancy news by Dr. Rolf’s interruption.

DOOL spoilers suggest that Xander might use Dr. Rolf to his advantage. Not in the personal sense, but professionally. Since he now has one of Titan’s labs, it would only make sense that he would develop something for the company.
