When Sarah got injected with the powerful DiMera hallucinogen several months ago, it did serious damage to her brain. Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) recovered from the drug. However, it seems that Sarah wasn’t so lucky.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest about the storyline, actress Stacy Haiduk (Kristen DiMera) explained that Sarah thinks she is Renee, who is deceased. Sarah filled her blank mind with everything from Renee’s old diaries. In fact, when questioned, Sarah can describe in great detail the highs and lows of Renee’s life.

Not only does Sarah think she is Renee, but doesn’t know who Xander is. What “Renee” believes is that she is in love with Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis). Obviously, Tony isn’t going to be with “Renee.”

For one thing, Sarah isn’t the real Renee. Plus, Tony is happily married to Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley). So, “Renee” will come back to Salem with a dead woman’s identity and a broken heart.
