Days Of Our Lives Star Paul Telfer Talks Dynamics With Onscreen Brother, John-Paul Lavoisier

Days Of Our Lives Star Paul Telfer Talks Dynamics With Onscreen Brother, John-Paul LavoisierDays of Our Lives spoilers reveal that it’s felt like a rollercoaster ride when it comes to the brotherly bond between Xander Kiriakis and Philip Kiriakis.

After months of fighting over Titan and Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) inheritance, the two finally found common ground working together, and now, once again, Xander has a disdain for Philip.

Paul Telfer recently spoke with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) about his working relationship with onscreen brother, John-Paul Lavoisier.

Paul Telfer On Meeting John-Paul Lavoisier

Telfer tells SOD how much he loved watching Xander and Philip get closer. The actor adds that he’s never had a consistent male scene partner, other than Matthew Ashford (Jack Deveraux).

Telfer points out that the dynamics between Xander and Jack were different than that of Xander and Philip.

After all, Xander and Jack were friends first, and had conflict next, whereas with Philip, Xander couldn’t stand him, and then he liked him.

Telfer notes that ‘J-P’ was one of the first Days colleagues he met when he did a fan event in LA after he began working on the show.

He adds that while J-P wasn’t on the show at that point, neither was he (technically)! Years later, Lavoisier reprised Philip (August 2023) to usher in Chloe Lane’s (Nadia Bjorlin) exit, only to return again!

Their “Brotherly Bond”

Telfer notes that J-P’s extended current run with Days has been fun, as he and Lavoisier have “… hit it off really well in real life and already had a little bit of fondness for one another outside of work,” which the two have brought into scenes.

He adds that they have a nice banter and rapport with one another. Telfer goes on to say, “For the writers to give that to us — to have the two [characters] actually working together and becoming loving brothers and essentially a good team — it’s just been a joy, honestly.”

Telfer relays that it’s the first time he’s built up a male relationship on the show as Xander, and then “smashed it apart” (comparing it to past romantic relationships Xander has had).

The actor states that the brothers went from having a heated conflict to realizing that they could get along, only to see it collapse; however, Telfer adds that “doing this” with Lavoisier has been so fun, and “… absolutely hilarious.”
