Days Of Our Lives star Suzanne Rogers just celebrated 50 years on the soap opera. And in a new interview, Suzanne shares her favorite memories from her role as Maggie.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Suzanne Rogers Celebrates 50-Year Anniversary
It all began in 1973 for Suzanne Rogers. That year marked her debut on Days of our Lives portraying Maggie Simmons.
As the years passed, Maggie got involved with amnesiac Mickey Horton (John Clarke). And while she couldn’t keep custody of her daughter Janice (Martha Nix), she did adopt Melissa (Lisa Trussel), noted TV Insider.

And Maggie welcomed another daughter, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and learned about a son, Daniel (Shawn Christian).
As a result of her role, Rogers took home the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1978.
However, in 1984, Suzanne exited Days Of Our Lives amid her diagnosis of myasthenia gravis, a chronic autoimmune condition.
But Rogers later returned. And as the years passed, Maggie became a widow. But then she fell in love once more with Victor Kiriakis (the late John Aniston).
Victor’s death on the show came at the same time as Rogers’ 50th anniversary with Days Of Our Lives.

DOOL Spoilers – Suzanne Rogers Fought For ‘Kindness’
And as she reflects on Maggie, Suzanne shared that she has “fought for” kindness on Days Of Our Lives. “I want to keep Maggie’s kindness,” she noted.
But Maggie will also “nail someone if they’re being rude. And she’ll put them in their place. She has to have empathy and kindness,” pointed out Rogers.
The Days Of Our Lives anniversary episode included the stove fire and how Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) became burned.
And Suzanne recalled how her friendship with Susan as well as Bill Hayes (Doug) grew through the years.
“There’s been a friendship with the three of us since my first day. We experienced life together both on and off screen,” added the actress.
But Rogers also expressed appreciation to Ken Corday as her “champion from the beginning because of his mom [Betty Corday, who cast me]. I owe every year of my life on that show to either Betty or Ken. Mostly Ken because he’s been with me the longest. When I was in the hospital for nearly three months, he sent me flowers when I was able to have them. He’s thoughtful. I couldn’t ask for a better boss.”

And above all, Suzanne expressed gratitude to Days Of Our Lives fans. She confessed that she felt like crying when she reflected on what the fans mean to her.
“It was the support of the fans that got me through the myasthenia, and the uproar from the fans after Maggie was killed, I feel, helped bring me back.”
And the Days Of Our Lives star praised her supporters for their kindness. “The fans have been as kind to me as I, as Maggie, has tried to be to other characters. They have made my life better,” summed up the actress.
