DOOL Eric Martsolf Talks This GH Star Was A Source Of Inspiration For Naming His Dog

Days of Our Lives’s (DOOL) star, Eric Martsolf, who plays Brady Black on the show, recently participated in a Soap Opera Digest (SOD) weekly column that asks daytime drama stars a question and then reveals their answers.

Martsolf’s answer proved to be interesting, providing a link to General Hospital and another hot daytime character that could rival his own sudsy persona.

This week’s query for SOD’s actor’s roundup was, “What Is A Name You Loved, But Didn’t Use For Your Children”?

Martsolf answers by stating, “Jagger”. He goes on to tell the online mag that his wife had a fondness for General Hospital’s (GH) Jagger Cates character when Antonio Sabato Jr. played the role, which was recently recast by Adam J. Harrington, until the character’s demise.

The actor goes to note that he and his wife were talking one day when he brought up the idea of ‘how fun’ it would be to name one of their kids ‘Brady’, when his wife responded, with, “We’re not doing that.”

However, she did suggest the name “Jagger” as she always loved it, thanks to the “Jagger” GH character.

DOOL Spoilers – Marriage = Compromise

Martsolf went on to state that he told his wife there’s no way he’s naming a son of his after another soap character that she likes more.

Still, Eric states that marriage is about compromise, so they ended up naming their dog, Jagger. Sounds like a pretty decent compromise, right? Furry babies are part of our families!

Martsolf and his wife Lisa Kouchak got married in October 2003 and had their twin boys, Mason Alan and Chase Evan, in 2006. While neither is named Jagger, both seem like suitable soapy names for any intriguing character in the land of daytime drama, right?
