Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that younger characters continue to be in the spotlight while their parents and grandparents take a back seat to all the action. It seems Steve and Kayla and John and Marlena don’t have much to do these days, but should they? You tell us!

Days Of Our Lives Poll – The Couples Of The Days f 0 Our Lives’ 80s Heyday Are Still There

Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) are still doing their professional thing and showing up at the hospital to be doctors every day. Kayla is chief of staff and treats everyone, while Marlena keeps hypnotizing her granddaughters, who seem to forget things. Their husbands, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), still dabble in private investigator work as part of Black Patch, but that seems to be more of a hobby for them of late. And none of these characters seem to have any other concern.

How could this be for these two popular pairs that all they do is work and listen to family members fret about their lives? Don’t they deserve their own major story? It’s been well over a year since Marlena has been in a coma and Kayla has had to save her and that’s usually an annual event for these two women, so what gives? Shouldn’t we see them doing more?

DOOL Spoilers – Give The Younger Salem Characters A Chance

Maybe you feel that the younger characters who are now on the front burner need to shine for the time being. You love watching the adventures of Lani (Sal Stowers) and her extended family, Sami (Alison Sweeney) and her machinations, Allie (Lindsay Arnold), Tripp (Lucas Adams), and soon Johnny, and especially Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal).

While you definitely love Jonn, Marlena, Steve, and Kayla and want to see them around as supportive family members and older characters who often have the best comments when outrageous reveals are made, you may also want to see the younger characters and their myriad of situations, and then have them go to the older characters for voice. Or maybe older characters can still make magic as they did in the past. Do you want to see John and Marlena and Steve and Kayla on the front burner again?
