Exciting Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: DOOL Ratings Soar As Baby Switch Drama Ensues

This COVID 19 Pandemic has affected every aspect of our lives. The changes in Hollywood in regards to daytime drama has certainly made some huge changes. High ratings shows are beginning to falter as the underdogs start to gain. How have the ratings changed this past week?

General Hospital Gained

General Hospital has gained in total viewers as well as the important 18 to 49 demographics. GH has moved to number two in some categories and tied for number one in others. Stories this week included Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) dealing with Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) drama. Also Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson), Willow Tait (Katelynn MacMullen), and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard). General Hospital has remained in third place almost consistently for several years now.

Days Of Our Lives Has Gained Too

NBC’s Days Of Our Lives has almost consistently been the low ranking soap for several years. However, Days is gaining viewers as well. Days is in a very good spot if this COVID 19 shutdown continues because they tape six months ahead and could easily be the only soap running original episodes.

Days has moved up to number three in the 18 to 49 demographic. This is very good for Days because this demographic is very important. Will the pandemic be instrumental in helping Days to continue to gain? This week’s shows centered around the baby switch with Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) as well as Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) and Kristen Dimera (Stacy Haiduk). Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) also got his memory back after talking to Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans).

The Bold And The Beautiful Dropped

Unfortunately, The Bold And The Beautiful has dropped in ratings hitting number four in the 18 to 49 demographics and has lost over 200,000 viewers. Normally B&B is among the top two in ratings as CBS soaps usually stay on top. Bold is one of the soaps that has run out of banked episodes and are showing repeats until the pandemic is over.

The Young And The Restless Dropped

The Young and The Restless has dropped over 200,000 for the week and 350,000 for the year. However, it has still managed to maintain it’s number one spot in the ratings. However, Y&R is yet another soap that is running out of episodes and running repeats until production can resume. Can the soap keep it’s number one spot with reruns?

Now that Y&R and B&B are out of shows, can they stay on top or will GH and Days move up by default? Will this pandemic and Days’ amount of banked shows convince the other three soaps to tape further ahead in the future in case a winter pandemic does occur? How is it that the lowest ranking soap could not be in the number one spot simply because they tape months ahead? Will the underdog be the one who shows the other three soaps how to survive?

I can’t wait to see what happen after the baby switches is finally done and finish. I read about the latest rumor that the real Mickey Horton is alive and well being raise somewhere. If this rumor true I want to know where the third girl baby came from and who is behind the latest baby switches.

I’m happy the ratings are going up, not so happy my other soaps are not airing. I think the baby swap story is pretty exciting and so many unexpected twists and turns!
