Brandon Barash’s Mysterious Return

DOOL spoilers confirm that Barash will make his long-anticipated return on April 23. The actor won’t give any solid information on who he will be playing, though. It’s unlikely it is Stefan because his dead body has no heart. He was also declared brain-dead, which is why Dr. Rolf Wilhelm (William Utay) couldn’t be given the resurrection injection.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Barash is coming back as a man named Jake.

Those that have been watching the NBC soap for decades may remember the Salem Strangler. His name was Jake Kositchek (formerly Jack Coleman) and he went around Salem strangling women. Sounds like Jake and Ben have something in common — both serial killers and have an obsession with strangulation.

However, it can’t be the real Salem Strangler as he died many years ago. So, is the name Jake just a coincidence or could there be something more to it? DaysCafe teased that Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) has been working behind the scenes. It’s possible she has her hand in this interesting mystery.

Could Stefan have a twin or did the villainess find a lookalike and somehow convinced him to take part in a sinister scheme? Is this a case of brainwashing or is it a high-tech mask, like the one Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) used to impersonate Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker)? Or was it not the real Stefan that was shot? We will have to keep watching to see where this storyline goes.
