On The Cusp Of His Days Of Our Lives Debut, Jacob Martinez Gives Al Calderon Massive Props

Days of Our Lives spoilers confirm that Al Calderon’s last episode as Javi Hernandez has already aired, so fans can expect to see Jacob Martinez debut as the recast very soon.

On the cusp of his first airdate, Martinez did something very special to honor Calderon’s time in Salem. More on this story below.

Javi Hernandez’s Ins & Outs

Days of Our Lives fans may recall that June 9 was Calderon’s last appearance on the Peacock soap.

Javi had scenes with Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) as he asked his cousin for a favor, and then he ran into Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) while the journalist was in Brady’s Pub working and watching little Kelsey.

With that said, Martinez is slated to debut on the show Tuesday, June 30.

With Martinez’s first airdate around the corner, the actor took some time to pay a bit of a tribute to the ‘Javi’ before him.

Jacob Martinez’s IG Tribute

Martinez hopped on Instagram and shared a photo of himself with Calderon, posting it on his Story.

There was a caption on the photo that read, “A major cheers to the man who passed me the brightest torch ever.”

He went on to say, “Al, your light and love for @dayspeacock and for Javi is inspiring and pushes me to be the best I can be every day. Thank you for being the angel you are. Cheers to you!”

Cherie Jimenez commented on the IG Story with, “My heart is so happy.”

Cousin to Gabi and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), Javi first entered storylines in October 2024 and quickly became a pivotal character in the land of Salem.

His romance with Leo helped transform Stark and placed him on a road to redemption, where the once shady villain redeemed himself.

Calderon was the first actor to play the role, so it’ll be interesting to see how Martinez makes the character his own.
