Patrika Darbo Talks Days of Our Lives Return – Could Nancy Be The One To Clean Up Joy’s Mess?

Days of Our Lives spoilers note that Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) continues to dig herself deep into her paralysis lie.

She convinced Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) to let her move in with him while she “recovers” but almost got caught out of her wheelchair by Stephanie Kiriakis (Abigail Klein).

Fans seem to think that if anyone could talk some sense into Joy, it would be her mom, Nancy Wesley, and her portrayer, Patrika Darbo, recently talked about a possible return to Salem.

A Damaged Mother-Daughter Relationship

Darbo talked to Soaps.com about her Days of Our Lives character, Nancy Wesley and Joy’s schemes. So, what would Nancy think of Joy’s behavior?

Darbo states, “Nancy would probably tell her to calm down a little bit. But they’ve never really had a good relationship, because she’s always blamed Nancy and Craig for having her just to save Chloe’s life.”

Darbo goes on to explain that even though she has tried to tell Joy in the past that she and Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas) love her as much as they love Chloe Lane (last played by Nadia Bjorlin), Joy never believed it.

At this point, Darbo believes Joy’s just looking for attention; she also believes that Nancy and Craig would both call their daughter out on her behavior and ask what she’s thinking!

Patrika Darbo Talks Return

In terms of Darbo returning to knock some sense into Joy, the actress had this to say, “I have a fan base who keeps going, ‘They need you! They need you right now! Joy is just awful!’”

Darbo notes that her hands are tied and she can’t really do anything about a return. She added, “Unfortunately, Days is so far ahead in their taping now that they’re on Peacock, so they can’t really go back and throw me in, because they filmed that [ages] ago.

She went on to say, “I feel bad about some of the things that are happening.”

That said, soap fans can expect to see Darbo on another daytime drama on CBS! Darbo is set to debut very soon on The Young and the Restless as Shirley Spectra, grandmother to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). While no specific air date has been offered, she’ll appear sometime in October.

Sally is set to marry Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) in the next few days with wedding festivities launching this Friday, October 16. Sally is also very pregnant, so fans should also brace for their baby to make an appearance very soon, too!
