Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – DAYS Fans Are Gun Shy
Many current DOOL fans remember when All My Children and One Life to Live began streaming on Hulu a decade ago, but that was a completely different situation. First, those shows had already been canceled and needed a reboot.
DAYS will not be doing that as it will transition from NBC on September 9 to Peacock on September 12 without any interruption in the story. Nothing will change except for where you can watch it. And remember, streaming has come a long way since then and is becoming the primary way people consume television.
Other fans are thrilled by the move and the willingness of NBC to keep the soap alive but in a 21st-century way.
DOOL Spoilers – Ken Corday Sees A Peacock Future For DOOL
One person who is especially thrilled is the show’s executive producer, Ken Corday. DAYS has been a part of his life for as long as he can remember as his parents, Ted and Betty Corday, created it in 1965 and Ken Corday even acted as the show’s musical director in the early 1980s before taking over the producer role.
“We have to make NBC happy and the viewers happy,” Corday said in the August 30, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “There’s trepidation because this is a big chance but it’s still going to be the same DAYS you know and love and it will be better in some ways.”
Corday notes that there are fewer commercials on Peacock, so the show will be longer. It will also be able to write scripts without broadcast rules and get a little more daring with what can be seen and said. For now, DAYS tapes so far ahead that we won’t be seeing any of these new elements until early 2023.
“This is not the end of an era,” Corday insisted. “It’s the beginning of another era. This is the best part of the job for me, these exciting, pioneering times, making changes like this and trying to keep everything positive.”

I am not happy to see Days leave Broadcast TV. I am in the minority that does not stream. I want to see my shows on a TV on a channel I can get on cable. Having to pay extra every month just to watch my soap is stupid! Most Day’s loyal viewers are older like me and we are seniors on a fixed income. Cable is extremely expensive and does not carry this Peacock network. That means you have to purchase a streaming device and then pay a monthly fee just to see the show. Days is going to lose many fans by this foolish decision.
I agree! Betrayal of traditional viewers . I can’ stream either!
I cannot believe that after all these years that Days of our Lives is not going to be on Channel. 10. NBC anymore. I think it’s just terrible that. You folks are doing this. I’m very upset over this. I’m very sad about this.
Moving to streaming is a betrayal of decades long fans. I choose not to pay for those services because it’s too costly. DOOL’s storylines have been really bad the last year and are getting more bizarre and pornographic all the time. That, at least, will make it easier for me to give it up. Very sad!
I think it is a shame for Days , I hope everyone stops watching. The show is getting STUPID anyway BYE DAYS…..
I have watched dool since the first day and can’t afford Peacock am on SS so have to give it up .THANKS A LOT!!!!!!!

I too will be leaving DOOL behind when it switches to Peacock. I have been watching almost from the beginning of its broadcast. But I will not pay to view it!
Moving to streaming is added cost for the senior citizen who already pays for cable. It’s sad after years of watching Days, we won’t be watching it anymore
I have been a fan since 1975! Sorry I won’t be watching any more, not moving to streaming because of the cost! Goodbye.
I have to watch it on peacock half the time anyway because of NBC news interruptions. The $5 a month is worth every penny!
Sorry. I have watched days since it’s first show I watched whatever the show was before DOOL (I think it was The Doctors, or something like that) when it switched to Days. But I am now 79 and, with rent and utilities taking most of my SS, no matter how much I like the show, I cannot pay more just to watch another TV show. I still have to have some money left over for food (which is a nasty habit I developed as a child).
I am on a fixed income and struggling to make ends meet. I pay for cable so that I can watch Days on NBC. I have watched Days since I was a child and I am now 69. I can watch the free Peacock on my phone but not the paid peacock channel. If this is how you show your loyal fans your appreciation, I wouldn’t want you to get on my bad side. This will be the Death of Days!!
why is Days going to be on Peacock that you have to pay for ….. put it on the free one and many people will then be glad to switch over ….. remember that the core watchers are the boomers and are on fixed incomes that doesn’t cover the costs for the basic needs, let alone another fee to watch TV that WAS FREE …..
I agree I have been watching since it aired I’m a baby boomer too and don’t want to pay to watch it living on social security too much for cable now may need to down size cable bill is too high now it’s a shame this is happening you will lose a lot of viewers
I will NOT MISS Bobby Stein or Everett! I don’t find the actors’ looks appealing at all.
I will GREATLY miss Eric and Jude and Nicole!
I grew to love them as a couple and really looked forward to seeing them as a family! SO SAD‼️
