Thursday evenings nominations sent daytime drama fans into a fun frenzy on social media, as viewers were excited about some favorites hitting the nominees list, while were also sad to see some who were snubbed.

51st Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations – Lead Performance In A Daytime Drama Series, Actor

The nominees for Lead Performance In A Daytime Drama Series, Actor, are as follows:

Eric Braeden, Young & The Restless (CBS)
Scott Clifton, The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS)
Thorsten Kaye, The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS)
John McCook, The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS)
Eric Martsolf, Days of Our Lives (Peacock)

Y&R fans were buzzing over Eric Braeden’s lead actor nod, as this is the first nomination he has received in two decades for playing the all-powerful Victor Newman. He won his first (and only) Daytime Emmy in 1998. Another noticeable thing about these nominations is that General Hospital (GH) actors were snubbed, especially a certain mob boss with a heart of gold, Maurice Benard, who plays Sonny Corinthos.

The nominees for Lead Performance In A Daytime Drama Series, Actor, are as follows:

Tamara Braun, Days of Our Lives (Peacock)
Finola Hughes, General Hospital (ABC)
Katherine Kelly Lang, The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS)
Annika Noelle, The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS)
Michelle Stafford, The Young and the Restless (CBS)
Cynthia Watros, General Hospital (ABC)

Speaking of snubs, many Y&R fans were hoping to see Melody Thomas Scott’s name on this list, for her incredible job as Nikki Newman, considering everything her character has been through this year.

Still, the women of Port Charles brought it home, as both Cynthia Watros and Finola Hughes are nominated for their roles in the ABC soap. Interestingly enough, both have already won a Daytime Emmy in this category, as well as Y&R’s Michelle Stafford. DOOL’s Tamara Braun have won a Daytime Emmy in the Supporting Category, twice.
