Is General Hospital Alum Kelly Monaco Heading To Days Of Our Lives?

General Hospital (GH) fans continue to miss Kelly Monaco in the land of Port Charles. Sadly, Sam McCall was murdered on Halloween at the hands of Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). While the vile criminal is close to getting justice for this, viewers still can’t help but feel as if GH made a major mistake in letting Monaco go.

After 21 years with the soap opera, Monaco was forced to move on, but could there be something brighter on the horizon?

Is Kelly Monaco Heading To Salem?

There is a buzz that Monaco could head to Days of Our Lives (DOOL). After all, the soap was quick to scoop up Steve Burton (GH’s Jason Morgan) when he was let go in 2021 after not complying with GH/ABC’s new COVID-19 mandate.

Still, while fans sparked speculation on social media, the sad reality is that Monaco is not slated to join DOOL anytime soon. As per Soap Opera Network, a DOOL rep confirmed to the site that Kelly being cast on Days was, “Not true”.

DOOL is headed for its 60th season, with a number of major character returns, so perhaps, adding a new character into the mix might not be in the cards right now.

With that being said, Monaco has laid low since her departure from GH. She may need time to rest and reflect on her career and what steps to take next. Maybe she’s interested in heading out of daytime drama, and into other projects? Only time will tell.

With that said, there are three other CBS soaps to think about if DOOL doesn’t come calling. The Young and the Restless (Y&R) would be an option for The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B).

Then there’s Beyond the Gates (BTG), a new soap set to hit the airwaves on CBS come Monday, February 24, at 2:00 p.m. (after the Y&R and B&B). In fact, as fellow GHer Jon Lindstrom (Ryan Chamberlain/Kevin Collins) was recently recruited for the groundbreaking soap, so could Monaco follow in his footsteps?
