Former daytime drama alum, Victoria Platt, recently shocked fans when she announced she got married in late 2024 to WNBA coach Vickie “VJ” Johnson. More on this story, down below.
Victoria Platt’s Announcement On Instagram
Sharing a carousel of pictures on Instagram from her wedding day, Platt’s caption read, “Sooooooo, we did a thang ya’ll! Woot woot!” She goes on to say, “So very grateful to all my family and my Nu family for the love and support and joy you all shared and poured out on us. Happy three-monthaversary baby! And a few days but who’s countin’??? Uhhh I am.”
As per their wedding website, Victoria and VJ got married in Dallas on December 7, 2024, close to 24 years after they first met.
The couple’s ‘Our Story’ section notes that the two were introduced in 1999 in New York when Victoria “unapologetically” stalked Vickie during WNBA’s second season as she played for NY Liberty.
The ladies had a nice friendship for a while, until “… life happened, as life does, and they both found adventure elsewhere for a couple of decades.”
Platt would end up marrying Terell Tilford, her Guiding Light co-star in 2001. The two left the soap that year, as well. Victoria and Terell share a daughter, Marley, and were wed for 20 years before divorcing in 2021.
As for VJ, she and Platt reconnected in February 2024 during a mutual friend’s birthday. While they had lost touch for many years, the moment they both saw each other in the New Orleans airport, they knew something was there.
Victoria Platt’s Soap Legacy
Platt played Vicky Spaulding on GL from 1998 to 2001; however, also had a run on Days of Our Lives in 2020 and 2021 as Amanda Raynor, the doctor involved in the Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) baby switch storyline. She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series in 2021.
Meanwhile, VJ enjoyed 13 years as a top-scoring player on both Liberty and the San Antonio Silver Stars. She would transition to coaching for the WNBA in 2011, acting as head coach for the Silver Stars and Dallas Wings. She was also the assistant coach for the Las Vegas Aces, and is the assistant coach for the Atlanta Dream, currently.
