Denise Richards Teases New Movie ‘Love Accidentally’

“Love Actually” Was A Life Changing Experience For Denise Richards“Love Accidentally” and “Love Actually” are colliding, and guess who’s at the steering wheel? Denise Richards!  Denise Richards Talks About Her “Blink and You’ll Miss It” Moment in 2003’s “Love Actually”

Richards’ latest romantic comedy “Love Accidentally” will premiere on Amazon Freevee on July 15. Ahead of the movie’s release, Richards, 51, talked about her very small role in 2003’s hit romantic comedy movie “Love Actually”, which she starred in almost twenty years ago.

She starred alongside an all-star ensemble that includes household names like Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Emma Thompson and Liam Neeson.

Richards did not make an appearance on the film until towards the end of the film when she was introduced as Carla, the “real friendly one” who Colin (Kris Marshall) brought back from America for his friend.

Denise Richards Talks New Movie

“I loved being a part of that movie, even though if you blink, you’ll miss me,” the actress exclusively told PEOPLE of her small part in “Love Actually”. “I’m still so proud of it in being able to be part of it and I’ll never forget meeting the cast. I was so starstruck. My mother — my late mom — traveled with me to London to shoot it. She was just so excited to be on set too.”

Relating her new comedy to the feel-good classic, Richards said, “To me, that’s what a movie like this reminds me of, just a romantic, uplifting, positive comedy. Especially now, I think people want to see positive, fun movies.”

“Love Actually” was an exciting phase in Denise Richards’ life. Being a rising star in her own right at the time – after gaining instant fame with a starring role in 1997’s “Starship Troopers” – she continued her hot streak by starring opposite Neve Campbell and Kevin Bacon in the steamy thriller “Wild Things”. Her next movie “Drop Dead Gorgeous” is now considered a cult classic and she played one of the most memorable Bond girls Dr. Christmas Jones in James Bond’s “The World Is Not Enough”.

Denise Richards – On The Cost Of “Early Fame”

Speaking on navigating her fame during her 20s, Richards admitted that there’s “no real handbook” on how to handle fame. “It’s not something you can really prepare someone for.”

“When I would do interviews I was very private, which I’m sure people now would find hard to believe because I’ve done reality shows and I’m on Instagram and stuff,” said the star. “When I started out, they wanted to imagine the actor in that role. And we would do our best to keep it and keep our private life private.”

You can stream “Love Accidentally” on Amazon Freevee starting July 15.
