It took time, but President Donald Trump finally gave Josh Shapiro, the Governor of Pennsylvania, a call after his reported arson attack. Just four days ago, Good Morning America reported that he hadn’t yet picked up the phone to check on him. However, that changed over the weekend.
The Call Came Days After Arson Attack
Josh Shapiro’s arson attack happened in Harrisburg, and then the Democrat waited about a week for the president to call him up. Interestingly, when the call came, it was via cell phone and the governor didn’t recognise it. So, he didn’t take it straight away. According to NBC Philadelphia, Josh called the number back and they had an amicable discussion.

The response to the call with Donald Trump came via a press conference on Tuesday. In it, Shapiro said, “I appreciated that the president called me kind of mid-morning on Saturday…He was very gracious. He asked how Lori and the kids were doing and talked for a couple of minutes about what transpired at the residence.”
Apart from that, the two politicians also talked about other topics, but Josh Shapiro declined to mention them. However, it seems to have been fruitful because Josh also mentioned that “[the president] is attuned to the issues that are important to me.”
Responses Were Lackluster
Few people bothered commenting on the press statement. One viewer wrote, “A lot more gracious than you deserve……….did Barry or Obiden call yet?”
Meanwhile, others seemed a bit divided. Here’s an interesting comment: “I [love] My Governor Josh Shapiro!!! I[love] My President Donald Trump!!! Pennsylvania Is The Best State In The USA.”
However, others felt that it took too long for the former reality TV star to bother to check up on Josh and his family. Here’s a comment referring to that: “Shapiro last week said he had received calls from political leaders around the country, including FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi ahead of his conversation with the president.”
What Happened With The Arson Attack?
Earlier this month, someone got inside the governor’s residence while the family was inside. While Molotov cocktails caused fire and carnage, the president of the USA didn’t initially have a lot to say. Instead, denying that the deranged person was MAGA, he described the attacker as “a whack job.”

Admittedly, though, he did say that sort of behavior could t be allowed. There is some criticism because, when an attempted assassination went down on Trump, Josh Shapiro was quick to condemn that sort of thing. He certainly didn’t wait a week before he contacted the Trump Campaign.
