ABC General Hospital news says that Lindsay Hartley has been knocking it out of the park in her portrayal as the new Sam McCall in Port Charles. As many General Hospital fans know, Lindsay has temporarily taken over the role from Kelly Monaco. But because Lindsay is doing such a phenomenal job, some fans believe that this new change should be more than just temporary. Here are three reasons why.
#1 She Brings A New Intensity To The Small Screen
Say what you will about a character like Sam McCall, but there’s no denying that she was born feisty and that’s the way she should play. After all, she was always known as the “sexy bad girl” in Port Charles who has matured into a self-assured and confident woman over the years. And yes, Lindsay has managed to play the part with exact precision. She brings a new intensity to the small screen that General Hospital fans haven’t seen in a very long time. With her powerhouse performances, you can easily forget that the actors are still social distancing on set.
#2 She Looks Just Like Sam McCall
Yes, when you think of Sam McCall, you automatically envision actress Kelly Monaco, seeing how she has been in the role since 2003. But if there’s anything that fans have learned about daytime television, it’s that face swaps are all the norm. Luckily, there is such a strong resemblance between Lindsay Hartley and Kelly Monaco, that it’s easy for fans to look at Lindsay and automatically think of Sam. Plus, there is no denying that Lindsay is drop-dead gorgeous, too!
#3 New Chemistry With Jason Morgan
If all of the above weren’t enough, there’s no denying that things haven’t been the same for Sam McCall ever since Drew left Port Charles. With actor Billy Miller no longer on General Hospital, some fans have noted that the chemistry just isn’t there anymore for Sam in her love life (actually make that on-again, off-again love life) with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).

Maybe Lindsay can add some much-needed spice to that. Sure, we have been seeing the back-and-forth pull from Sam and Jason for years but maybe Lindsay will finally be able to step in and do something about it. Do you agree?

I love this new sam
Unfortunately I agree. Why? Because she has no chemistry with Jason anymore. She exploded on screen, with Billy Miller’s Jason/Drew. They never should have broken them up. She’s been miserable ever since. It shows in her face, and it shows in her acting. She came alive with Billy. What was once there with Steve Burton, I think Steve ruined by leaving for 5 years. Then they brought Miller on, and kelly was amazing with him as Sam. They need to bring him back ASAP for Kelly’s Sam, or just forget about Sam and Jason, and split them up. As far as Lindsey is concerned, give her a brand new role, just for her, and they can put her with Jason.
She wears way too much eye makeup. Looks like a child into her mother’s makeup
