General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that reports confirm Sofia Mattsson’s final episode as Sasha Gilmore on the ABC soap was Friday, July 18.
While fans could feel it was coming, many were still shocked. It’s sad to see Sasha go, because she has so much more story to tell. Below are four reasons the daytime drama needs to recast the Sasha Gilmore character.
Unfinished Business
Sasha left Port Charles because she thought Daisy Gilmore (Brenden & Evelyn Beimford) was being targeted by an enemy of Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard).
After all, Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) just recovered from getting caught in the mob war earlier this year during the penthouse explosion, plus, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) almost lost her life thanks to the fire at Charlie’s Pub mere days ago.
Once everyone realizes that Daisy was kidnapped by Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) then all bets will be off. Was this why she was sent somewhere, where she could come back so easily?

Michael Corinthos Needs A Love Interest – Sasha Corbin Fits That Bill
The challenge with a character like Michael Corinthos is that he’s related to most of the eligible women his age, being part of the Corinthos, Quartermaine, and Spencer families
. Sasha and Michael had sparks upon Michael’s return, and all arrows were pointing to a reunion, which makes Sasha’s exit that much more confusing.
Sasha Versus Willow Rivalry
Nothing like a solid rivalry storyline, and considering the first two reasons listed above, Sasha learning Willow was behind “kidnapping” her baby would trigger their current rivalry to the next level.

Sasha and Willow’s encounters were explosive in the past; add in the potential dynamic of Sasha “winning” Michael’s heart (especially since Willow is bound to find out soon about Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and her mom, Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) affair), and things could get ugly, very fast!
Sasha Gilmore Deserves A “Happily Ever After” Era
Every character in a soap endures a ton of drama, but it’s been one bad thing after another for Sasha. From losing her newborn son to losing Brandon Corbin (Johnny Wactor), being duped by Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burrough), thrown wrongly into a mental institution, it felt like Sasha was almost going to enjoy some happiness with Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) until she found out he was her cousin!
Now, she had to escape town and leave her loved ones behind? The safe house will be a nice chance for Sasha and Daisy to bond with her parents, but she deserves more, and coming back to PC will provide an opportunity for this!

Please don’t recast the role of Sasha .. She is great !!!! STOP GETTING RID OF THESE WONDERFUL ACTORS!!! Only if they need to go because of their private lives or another acting job they need to do…
Bring back the original Sasha!
Some of them leave on their own, so no one is “getting rid” of them. And sometimes recasts really work out well. Chad left, his choice, and now we have a fantastic Michael who is 100 times better. And the current Lulu is amazing. No matter what you think of the CHARACTER, this is the best actress to play her yet. And I love the other 2. I wish Sofia hadn’t wanted to go, but do think the character needs to be recast to carry on her story. Sofia’s sister filled in for her a few times, maybe she’s available and willing to take over.
All of those reasons to have Sasha back are legitimate BUT! Why on Gods green earth would you recast Sasha?!?!
She didn’t quit, you quit her! Sofia is Sasha, period, no room for discussion… And we want her back, and we want her to have a good storyline. And by good we mean happy, at peace, in a loving relationship, raising her daughter… NO DRAMA this time around.
No, I would,not recast Sasha. She isa great actress. I would bring her back and reunite her with Micheal.

I adore Sofia. But Daisy can’t be gone from Michael, Wiley and Amelia’s lives (not to mention the Q’s and the Corinthos lives) forever. What was the point of her existence if she was going to be yanked away?
Yes she is a sweetheart but needs to return to her smaller body to compliment Michael.
I agree with all the people above Sasha needs to come back and join Michael who is fantastic and much better than the other one. His facial expressions are so genuine you can feel everything he is trying to say. Sasha and Michael will bring this show back to the good old days when the cast members were authentic and not only there for a paycheck.

I said maybe her sister since she did before! OMG the readers were all over me not knowing what I was talking about, oh that never happened had a yada yada. So thanks!
