ABC General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal while fans might assume they know everything there is to know about their favorite General Hospital actor Steve Burton, there are a few things about him that would surprise fans. Here are five things you probably didn’t know about the one and only, Jason Morgan.
#1 His Real Name Is Not Steve
While the world might know him as Steve Burton, that’s actually not his real first name. Born in Indianapolis on June 28, 1970, the actor was named Jack Stephen Burton after his own father, Jack. Even though he took his middle name as to know to confuse anyone in his house, his own son is named Jack, too.
#2 He’s Got A Solid Net Worth
While no one really knows just how much soap stars make per episode these days, actors such as Steve Burton do pretty well, seeing how they have a long history with their shows. The report indicates that the handsome actor is worth about $3 million dollars.
#3 His Past Soap Life
Prior to joining General Hospital, Steve had a short stint in Genoa City Dylan on The Young and the Restless. His first daytime television role, however, was on Days of Our Lives as his character Harris Michaels.
#4 Steve Burton Is Also A Writer And Director
Even though he is best known for his work on daytime television, Jason has also dabbled in writing and directing behind the scenes. Back in 2005, he wrote and directed the Laws of Gambling. While the movie didn’t hit theater screens, the critics did have quite a lot of positive things to say about it. There’s always the chance that Steve might consider doing some work behind the General Hospital cameras in the future. Fingers crossed!

#5 He’s In Control Of Jason Morgan’s Destiny
While there are a lot of daytime television stars that would say they usually don’t have any control over what goes on in the writing room or behind the scenes of their soap, that’s not the case with Steve Burton. In fact, he says that he often does have control of Jason Morgan’s destiny on General Hospital. He once said, “Actually, I get a little say in what my character would or wouldn’t do.”
