While the case was initially dismissed, due to new evidence presented by Rademacher’s lawyers, it’s re-opened and back in the headlines. With that said, ABC recently hit back offering a statement about the actor’s new claims.
Ingo Rademacher’s New Evidence
Rademacher entered the soap in 1996 and played his GH character on and off until 2021. He was let go because he did not comply with ABC’s new COVID-19 vaccination policy.
As per reports, the actor asked for a religious exemption; however, was denied. As Rademacher is quite vocal about his right-wing political views on his social media, he believed he was fired because of this.
As Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) was also fired because he didn’t comply with the COVID-19 vaccine policy, and he’s somewhat been dragged into this case. Burton was rehired by GH in early 2024 after the vaccine policy was dropped.
Rademacher’s lawyer, via In Touch Weekly, alleged, “That argument was always specious. But it carries even less weight now, given the newly discovered evidence that ABC re-hired [Steve] for General Hospital but did not re-hire Ingo.”

He goes on to say, “This new evidence is compelling. It undermines ABC’s argument that the political animus the GH producers showed toward Ingo did not matter. It confirms Ingo’s argument that ABC intended to get rid of him — to recast his character — which preceded the COVID-19 vaccination policy.”
ABC Hits Back On This
As per In Touch, ABC has hit back on these claims. Their legal team has noted that bringing Burton back to GH was, “… completely irrelevant, inadmissible and would not raise a triable issue of fact in this case.”
The network’s lawyer also stated that Burton was rehired, “… years after the end of the COVID-19 global health emergency, and at a time when Disney’s vaccine mandate was no longer in effect. Thus, his rehiring has no logical impact on [Ingo’s] claims.”
In addition, the team noted that “Nothing in the order indicates the court considered [Steve’s] termination as a factor when it granted [ABC’s] Motion for Summary Judgement.

Moreover, that [Steve] was rehired years later and after [ABC] suspended its COVID-19 vaccine requirement, cannot be considered ‘newly discovered evidence’ that justifies a new trial.”
As of this writing, the judge has yet to provide a ruling in light of this new evidence.

Ingo needs to give it up and stop crying. Nobody cares. He has shown what kind of petty person he is. He is not missed or wanted on GH.
Steve was rehired yes remember he never sued anyone But Indgo couldn’t keep his mouth shut and sued. And hasn’t stop bringing it up again and again.
