Beyond The Gates Finishes Ahead Of General Hospital In The Ratings During Debut Week

Beyond The Gates Finishes Ahead Of General Hospital In The Ratings During Debut WeekWhile soap opera fans continue to warm up to Beyond the Gates, the new daytime drama received some promising news in terms of Nielsen ratings.

Fairmont Crest Tops Port Charles In The Ratings

As most know, Beyond the Gates (BTG) and General Hospital (GH) directly compete with each other, as the CBS soap airs at the same time as the ABC daytime drama.

As per a Soap Opera Network report, for the Women 18-49 demographic, Beyond the Gates ranked 6th for the week of February 24-28 (its premiere week) when it came to all daytime broadcast shows and had a rating of 0.25.

Meanwhile, for Women 25-54, it also ranked 6th for the week, averaging a 0.39 rating. Both these numbers reflected an increase from the show that the soap replaced in that CBS timeslot, The Talk.

More Stats To Consider

Speaking of that timeslot, Beyond the Gates’ performance during the 2 p.m. ET airing on CBS has been the best ever from the last two years when it came to Women 18-49 (the last time was March 7-11, 2022) and Women 25-54 (last time was September 27-October 1, 2021).

In addition, it appears that the newest daytime drama helped with The Young and the Restless (Y&R) and The Bold and the Beautiful’s (B&B) numbers, as well.

The two sister soaps, which air prior to BTG, also saw an increase in demos for the week of February 24-28. The Y&R did see a decrease in the 25-54 demographic but saw an increase in the Women 18-49.

Meanwhile, the debut of Beyond the Gates marks the first time General Hospital has had to compete with another soap since As the World Turns was canceled in 2010.

GH was down in their week-to-week ratings in key demographics, bringing in an average rating of 0.19 among Women 18-49 and 0.28 for Women 25-54.
