Bluesy Burke Leaving General Hospital? The Truth About Charlotte’s Exit

General Hospital spoilers hint that during the Monday, September 28 episode, Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) was informed that she was heading to boarding school in Maine.

While the girl pleaded for her parents to reconsider, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) didn’t waver. What does this mean for Charlotte and her portrayer, Bluesy Burke? Find out below!

Not Forever …

General Hospital spoilers imply that Charlotte will exit the canvas shortly; however, it’s only temporary. The show’s Executive Producer Frank Valentini recently told SOD, “Bluesy is still a part of the General Hospital family, and we worked it out so that she will come back on her holidays and school breaks.”

He went on to say, “We are incredibly proud of her as she begins this exciting new chapter and starts her college journey.”

Burke entered Port Charles as the Charlotte recast in September of last year, taking over for Scarlett Fernandez. The young actress has really made the role her own during these past 12 months.

Bluesy Burke Loves Her GH Job

Burke told SOD that despite being accepted into some ‘good schools’ during her college application process, she did think about delaying this chapter to stay on General Hospital

. Bluesy noted that she loves her job on the ABC soap and didn’t want to leave it. Still, she added, “But I spoke to Frank and just kind of laid it all out there and let him know what my situation was and he was in full support of me going to college.”

She added, “When I told him I was thinking of taking a gap year, he was like, ‘No, you have to go to college, that’s so important and we will be here for you.’”

Bluesy went on to say that knowing the Charlotte role would be kept open, ‘meant the world’ and it was easier to make the decision about going to college.

On her final day of filming, Bluesy and Valentini talked about when she could come back, which was comforting to her.

Interestingly enough, General Hospital had a similar arrangement back in 1996 when Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio) went to New York University. Robin headed to Yale, and McCullough would return to set during her school breaks to film.
