The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers – Studio City Web Series: What Is It About?

Kanan plays Sam Stevens in the web series, which dives into the backstage look at soaps. The main character is a soap actor on Hearts on Fire, who finds himself at an important crossroads in his life. It also focuses on Sam’s life, as well as those he is connected to, including his co-stars.

While daytime fans know Kanan well due to him being on three of the four remaining soaps on TV, other faces in Studio City will be familiar as well. Kanan confirmed that fans will recognize cast members such as Sarah Brown, Tristan Rogers, Carolyn Hennesy, Patrika Darbo, and Scott Turner Schofield. There was the thought of making Sarah the main character’s love interest. However, romances come and go. Kanan wanted Sarah to stick around, so they made her Sam’s sister instead.

Speaking to SoapHub, Kanan explained that Studio City tackles what really happens in the soap business. Viewers will see storylines about ageism, the #metoo movement, and other issues. He told the publication, “We show the realities of the business and pertinent issues including ageism, #metoo, and other topics. That’s what I’ve always liked about soap operas. They’re in the vanguard of taking on social issues.

B&B Spoilers – Love Letter To Soap Operas

He also made it clear that Studio City does not poke fun at the daytime genre. He called the web series a “love letter to soaps.” He also commended those that worked on daytime TV. He said that out of all the genres, soap operas have some of the best actors.

“I want Studio City to be a love letter to the soaps for all they’ve given me. Some of the best actors ever are on daytime.”
