General Hospital Cameron Mathison Gives Sweet Feedback On Foster Pup

General Hospital star Cameron Mathison, who plays the unpopular Drew Cain, received praise for his decision when he revealed that he fostered a large Doberman. This weekend, he gave some sweet news in an update about the pup named Hunter.

The First News About The Pup

The news about the 100-pound dog from an LA animal shelter arrived in early August. At the time, he introduced Hunter to his social media followers, calling him “the sweetest guy you’ll ever meet.” Additionally, he noted the dog’s resemblance to his late Doberman, Red.

After a week, Mathison decided not to permanently adopt Hunter. He explained that his family’s temporary rental home, which they’ve been living in since their house was destroyed in a wildfire, didn’t have enough space for a active dog. Instead, Cameron Mathison decided that Hunter needed a lot more room, so he hoped for a nice family to adopt Hunter.  

The Sweet Update

On Saturday this weekend, feedback arrived, and the real-life Drew Cain told his ABC fans that the foster dog found a wonderful home. The post on Instagram came with some adorable photos of the dog, and he revealed his happiness about the new owners.

In his caption, Mathison said, in part:

After weeks of fostering, our sweet boy Hunter has finally found his forever home — and it couldn’t be more perfect. An amazing couple, kids to play with, a yard to run in, and even other dogs to keep him company.

Elaborating further, the GH star told his followers that “every photo and video we’ve seen since shows him absolutely beaming with happiness.”

Next, he reminded his fans that Hunter didn’t always have an easy life, and that he felt happiness to think that finally, “Hunter’s exactly where he was meant to be — home.”

GH star Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) was one of the first to comment, telling Cameron, “Love this!!!” Fans of the daytime drama also chimed in about the happy outcome. One of them wrote, “Oh that’s wonderful… bet you’ll miss him though… “
