Charles Mesures Breaks Silence On General Hospital Exit – Claps Back At Laura Wright

General Hospital (GH) spoilers remind fans that Charles Mesure, who played Jack Brennan on the ABC soap opera, exited the show, rather quietly, earlier this year.
While there was wild speculation regarding his departure, the actor recently broke his silence on social media by clapping back at Laura Wright (Carly Spencer) in the process.
Charles Mesure Responds To Laura Wright’s X Post
Rewinding to February 3 of this year, Wright reposted an article on the social media platform X. It was a story from TV Insider about Chris McKenna being recast in the role of Brennan.
At that time, fans responded to Wright about Mesure’s exit. She replied saying, “It was Charles choice to leave” and then, “I think it’s explained in the article.”
During the evening of October 1, Charles Mesure, responded to Wright’s February X post by saying, “Not true. The “article” completely misrepresents an old and irrelevant interview. In fact, I loved every aspect of the work on GH and loved working with every scene partner.”
He went on to say, “I’m proud of every single scene we did with the Brennan character. However, I hated every aspect of the toxic, borderline sinister backstage politics on GH.”
Mesure Further Explains
In a separate X post on the evening of October 1, shortly after replying to Wright, Mesure answered a fan who noted that some viewers thought the actor left GH because he couldn’t handle the demanding workload of a daytime drama – even though she never thought that to be the case.
Mesure replied, “Thank you. My recollection is nailing pretty much every scene in one take, and having fun at the same time, but if anyone wants to push a different narrative, I’d encourage them to be quoted.”
Yikes! Looks like the drama off the canvas surrounding this situation has officially turned up a notch (or two). Will Wright respond to Mesure and what will happen next? Only time will tell.

I’m sure it had something to do with Alexis, we know she makes the work place toxic.
Totally believe it’s probably a likely cause because of Nancy Lee Grahn. She is very outspoken and her negativity attitude towards people who do not agree with her or bend to her beliefs and views has a a very negative impact on the show. She needs to be replaced as Alexis.

Maybe all the actors who have left did so because of the toxic environment, instead of other reasons given. Lots of people blaming Nancy, which is understandable with her hateful attitude, but Charles’s character and hers rarely crossed paths, so probably didn’t work together much, if at all. Makes you wonder what really goes on.
It will never revealed by CM the exact reason he decided to leave the GH staff, and I don’t believe one person NG would be the reasoning. There are always situations going on behind the scenes we the viewers will never know who did what or what occurred as we are not privy to that information and an actor has has the responsibility of non disclosure. I am sorry CM left canvas but in a way am glad as the character Brennan seems to be a stinker and I wouldn’t want to see in that position.
Whatever his reasons, Charles chose to leave the role. I’m sure its hard to read others speculating on your private reasons. Its rather sad that he chose to start talking after all this time. It just isnt relevant any more. I’m sure he read the positive feedback from fans who enjoyed him in the role. Im a fan of Laura Wright and I don’t recall her trying to start trouble with cast members. I dont think she meant to speak badly about him. All the chatter now is just a waste of everyone’s time.
To all of you who state that Nancy Lee Grahn makes the workplace toxic: Do you REALLY believe TPTB would STILL have her on the show – if by your reasoning – her personality is driving people FROM the show? There’s probably no one in front of the cameras with that type of power. ADDITIONALLY, I have NEVER read that NLG speaks ill of her co-workers. Have you? ALL OF YOU are upset because NLG voices her political opinion – which apparently you disagree with. That’s outside the scope of GH. But, since you insist on politicizing everything – that’s ALL on you know who. I really really really do not care and do not want to know actor’s political opinions. That’s not why I watch TV. BUT, every time I go to the comments section, someone just HAS TO bring in politics. That’s ludicrous.
From now on, I’m staying out of the comments section.
It’s really sad because I don’t like this new one for Carly and Charles brought chemistry to the pair… Not feeling it with the couple now. He probably chose to speak out now because he has many fans still missing him and if Laura isn’t sure, she should just say so. I’m not a fan of Nancy either and it’s easy to put her in with that statement, whether she is a part of it or not. Miss Charles Mesure!
Now Charles has everyone curious. Why doesn’t he or someone tell us the real reason behind it. I would love to k ow now,since I was a really big fan of Mensures!
GH and majority of the actors, such as vile democrat Nancy, are bullies and if an actor doesn’t have the same beliefs or opinions as they do, then they force them to leave

Fact is Charles and Laura chemistry were much better and I miss him
This has nothing to do with NLG’s personal political views. I think this has more to with the backstage favoritism that others claim exists. In fact, NLG and CM got along and were friendly. I remember about a year ago Nancy posted a picture of her and Charles Measure on her IG page. She was praising him and his carpentry skills.
I remember during the night before the election Charles Mesure was on Instagram with Nancy Lee Grahn so I doubt it was due to her political beliefs unless something changed after that. They seemed friendly and both in agreement about politics. I really did like Charles Measure I wonder if it was political as in Republican Democrat issues or just politics as in the way GH is run and how certain cast members are favored. Chris McKenna is great now I see him as Brennan but I did love Charles Mesure’s chemistry with everyone especially Carly and loved his accent.
Charles Mesure and Laura Wright were both born in 1970 and are both 55 years old. Chris McKenna is 47 years old.
I agree. I think Charlie’s Mesure and Laura’s Wright’s chemistry was off the charts from the first day he walked into Bobby’s. Chris McKenner has grown on me now.
I agree 100% that it is most likely NLG driving backstage politics and toxic environment but the producers, Frank and ABC are letting her get away with it. Fire her and recast with someone who is non political and just wants to come to work to work and who can get along with everyone no matter their political beliefs. I think they are scared of a lawsuit if they fire her and my opionion she would do it. She was very ugly to Ingo when he left. Ingo is conservative and she can’t stand conservatives by posts on her social media. There are clicks at GH and Charles unfortunately was not in it but Nancy and Laura are. I liked Charles Mesure much better than the recast.
