Daytime Emmy Nominations 2025- GH Actors Who Should Have Been Recognized For Their Work

The Daytime Emmy nominations

The Daytime Emmy nominations were announced this week, and there is some great representation from the General Hospital cast. We have Laura Wright (Carly Spencer), Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis), Dominic Zampronga (Dante Falconeri), representing the cast in the leading actress and actor category.

We have Kate Mansi (Kristina Corinthos-Davis), Tajh Bellow (T.J. Ashford), Gregory Harrison (Gregory Chase), and Jonathan Jackson (Lucky Spencer) representing in the supporting category, and finally Avery Kristen Pohl (Esme Prince), Jacqueline Lopez (Blaze) and Alley Mills (Heather Webber) representing in the guest performance category.

General Hospital has an incredible cast of actors and actresses, but there were many who feel that other actors and actresses were also deserving of a nomination this year for an Emmy. Let’s take a look at some other cast members who were overlooked, and deserve recognition for their performance in 2024.

Jane Elliot (Tracy Quartermaine)

Jane Elliot has consistently delivered a powerhouse performance with every script and line she is given since her return from retirement in 2023.

In 2024, Elliot’s Tracy could make you laugh, cry or even break your heart. Elliot plays the role effortlessly, and deserves recognition particularly for her work.

In 2024, Elliot’s Tracy showed a softer, more mellow side but Tracy at her core was still in there.

This was portrayed in the storyline regarding Gregory Chase’s death, and he challenged Tracy, who wanted a relationship with him. We saw that there is more of her mother, Lila in Tracy than we ever knew, and Elliot played it to perfection.

Maura West (Ava Jerome)

Maura West has been a force since she debuted as Ava Jerome in 2013. West has been a treat and delight since playing the duplicitous Ava. As much as a horrible person Ava is, the viewer can’t help but love her, and that is mostly due to West’s lovable betrayal of such a wretched character.

West delivered the goods when she went up against Kate Mansi’s Kristina, and shined throughout 2024. West was indeed overlooked.

Cynthia Watros (Nina Reeves)

Watros had a hell of a year in 2024 as Nina, who was navigating repairing her relationship with daughter, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), but also having a sexual relationship with Drew (Cameron Mathison) at the same time as her daughter was.

Watros consistently played Nina to the hilt, and we loved every minute of it! Watros kept us entertained all year long!

Kristen Vaganos (Molly Lansing-Davis)

Kristen Vaganos proved her chops in 2024 playing Alexis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) youngest daughter, being the most successful of a series of recasts.

Vaganos’s performance during the surrogacy storyline, and the ultimate break up of her domestic partnership with T.J. (Tahj Bellow) was heartbreaking. Her scenes confronting Kristina at her baby’s gravesite were some of the best of the year.

Steve Burton (Jason Morgan)

Steve Burton returned to General Hospital in 2024 and has delivered the performance of his career ever since. Jason has been more layered, and not just a one note hitman for Sonny (Maurice Bernard).

Burton has brought depth and complexity to a previously one note character, and we have been loving every minute of it!

Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Spencer Cassadine)

Although Chavez did not air too much in 2024, his work as Spencer deserved recognition as he played the end of his run on the show effortlessly.

Nicholas Alexander Chavez has had much success since he left Port Charles, and it’s no wonder why as he proved his talent during his run as Spencer on General Hospital.

General Hospital has a multi-talented cast, and although not everyone can be nominated every year, there are always performers that do not get the recognition they deserve. All of the GH nominations are stellar, and deserve it.

However, there are other performers that definitely deserve their chance to shine! Keep watching all the great actors and actresses on General Hospital, weekdays on ABC. Also don’t forget to check back here frequently for all the latest General Hospital updates.
