In a recent interview with Soaps in Depth, McCullough shed some light on where she’s at in her career right now. She says that Frank Valentini, executive producer, invited her back to the show late last year.

It was an invite she couldn’t accept at the time because “I’d been working for six straight months. I had been on location in New Mexico, Montreal, and New York. I was like, ‘I haven’t been home for more than like, three days straight. I’ve gotta be home.’”

GH Spoilers – Kimberly McCullough Isn’t Counting Out A Return To GH

So, that means that Kimberly may return to the daytime drama at some point in time? “I don’t think it’s the last [you’ll see] of me,” she said. “But you know, I also don’t look like an actor anymore.”

Candidly, Kimberly went on to say, “I’ve gained weight and I’m fine with that. For me to maintain that level of [fitness], it’s like being an athlete. You have to maintain it. It takes money, time, effort, and focus — and I’m focused on other things.”

That clears up what Kimberly meant when she announced on Instagram last year that she was “retired from acting.”

GH Spoilers – Kimberly Is Focused On Directing For Now

As for her directing career, the talented hyphenate shares that, “I’m just starting to feel like it’s working.” Kimberly notes that she’s now directed 25 television episodes, “And it’s also becoming harder and harder to do guest appearances on GH because my schedule is getting so crazy — and I have a kid.” Kimberly’s son Otis turns 2-years old this June.

While Kimberly may or may not pop up in Port Charles in the near future, there is always the chance that she will make a guest appearance to see her mom Anna, and her father Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) who is also back in town.

For now, her next directing gig will be the Roswell, New Mexico series episode titled “I’ll Stand By You,” a show which stars another GH alum, Nathan Dean Parsons (Ethan).
