Laura Wright is one of the most popular actresses on daytime television. Many fans remember her best as Cassie Winslow on Guiding Light but it’s her role as Carly Corinthos in General Hospital that has brought her the most fame.
Carly is also one of the most open actresses in the soap world. She loves her fans and appreciates all of their support and as a result, her fans love her just as much in return. That’s why we’ve got five things that you probably didn’t know about Laura, her personal life and her career. Check out our list below.
5. Her Early Acting Career
Laura always knew that she wanted to be an actress. Before becoming a daytime television star, she appeared in several high school plays including Gypsy, Our Town, and You Can’t Take It With You. In 1991 she got her big break by making her acting debut on Loving.
4. She Loves Social Media
If Laura looks like she has a fun loving, bubbly, warm personality, that’s because she does. She is very active on Instagram and Twitter and loves interacting with her fans on social media. She also loves to share behind the scenes photos of her life at home with her kids, her workouts and of course, her main squeeze, boyfriend and General Hospital co-star, Wes Ramsey.
3. Her Relationship With Wes Ramsey
Laura has been dating Wes for the last two years, and yes, many people have called them the most handsome, if not also photogenic couple in the entertainment industry. “He’s seven years younger than me, let’s just put it out there,” Laura told Soap Opera Digest in an interview back in 2017. “People are going, ‘[Gasps] He’s such a boy toy!’ I’m like, ‘He’s seven years younger!’ And in your 40s, I don’t know how big of a deal that is. But he looks even younger. Sometimes when we take pictures together, I’m like, ‘Stop smiling! You look like you’re 12! Look angry; you’ll look older!’”
2. She Loves To Stay In Shape
If Laura isn’t on the set of General Hospital or spending time with her family, you can bet that she is working out or hiking up the mountains at Runyon Canyon in Los Angeles. She loves to stay in shape, spend time in the outdoors, and de-stress by letting her body do the work for her!
1. She Keeps A Positive Mindset
Laura told Soap Opera Digest: “Every day it’s a choice, to be aware, to be accountable and to be grateful, really grateful, for everything I have. An incredible relationship with my daughter. A son that adores me, and I adore him. A relationship with an amazing man and a relationship with an ex-husband who will always be a close friend. I’m proud of all that, really proud.”
