General Hospital Alum Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer) Celebrates Birthday In Amsterdam

General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that it’s been a hot minute since Luke Spencer has been in the land of Port Charles.

He arrived in town in 1978, and his love story with Laura Webber (Genie Francis) revolutionized the term “super couple” and drew many eyes to the daytime drama and the world of soaps, in general.

Yes, Luke and Laura were a romantic phenomenon drawing record-breaking viewers to watch them get hitched in November 1981.

Sadly, Luke ended up leaving PC in 2015 and returned for a very short stint in 2017. Since then, he’s been off-screen, and Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliott) returned to the canvas in early 2022 to reveal that Luke had passed away.

Still, his portrayer, Anthony Geary, is still very much alive, and recently celebrated a nice milestone.

The retired GH star recently celebrated his 77th birthday in Amsterdam on Wednesday, May 29th. The General Hospital Blog Instagram account posted a nice video of Geary, blowing out the candles of a birthday cake, while loved ones are singing, “The Happy Birthday” song.

Geary looked like he was having a grand time, and here’s hoping the wish he made before blowing out his birthday candles comes true!

General Hospital News: Tony Geary’s Iconic Soap Career

Geary had an incredible acting career that not only included an iconic run, on GH, Port Charles, and GH: The Night Shift, but also multiple appearances on primetime TV, which included shows like The Six Million Dollar Man, The Partridge Family, and All In The Family.

His impact on GH has scored him a record-breaking eight Daytime Emmys in the Outstanding Lead Actor category and he has also been nominated for this award 16 times.

His first nomination was in 1980 and he won his first statue in 1982; the last time he was nominated was in 2016 and the last Daytime Emmy he took home was in 2015.
