Chris McKenna’s Bone Loss Needs Repaired
According to Soap Opera Digest, McKenna posted a photo of his x-ray on this X account and explained the problem to fans. “I had a broken crown fixed last month and they discovered a spot on my x-ray,” McKenna posted. “Turns out I need emergency surgery in the morning to remove a cyst that has eaten away my jawbone and have a bone graft.”
Things could have been worse if the dentist hadn’t discovered the problem. The actor went on to say, “Good thing I broke that tooth! This is gonna hurt but lucky we caught it. ”
Apparently pain medication is an issue for the actor who also posted, “The good news is I’m gonna be on pain meds for weeks and my tweets might be hilarious.”
Fans Offer McKenna Advice
One fan went on to offer some very important advice to McKenna about having his impacted wisdom teeth removed.

The fan pointed out that the teeth can cause cysts that can become cancerous and therefore need to be taken care of. “My surgeon recommended to not do that because of the way they are positioned in my jaw unless they start causing me problems.”
This seems to be the time of year for McKenna to get surprises because this surgery comes right on the heels of his exit from General Hospital.
McKenna was not expecting to exit the show where he was in a romantic relationship with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). After playing Brennan since February 2025, the show decided to kill the character off in September.
McKenna Is Determined To Stay Positive
Chris is at least trying to keep a positive attitude, much like he did when he lost his job at General Hospital. He told TV Insider, “I’m really grateful.

It’s disappointing how it’s ending right now, but this was a gift.” Discovering this issue is really a blessing in disguise considering it could have been so much worse if he hadn’t broke his tooth at this particular time.
Of course, fans are hoping that Chris gets this procedure done with a little pain as possible and that everything turns out okay for him in the end.
Who knows, perhaps we will see Chris very soon on another soap or even resurrected on General Hospital down the road. After all, nobody stays gone on GH for very long.
