The Video Is Called “Ultraviolet Empire”
The video is called “Ultraviolet Empire” and Jonathan is very excited about it. It is a video but is also an album of music, he announced on Instagram. October 15 a single from the album, “The Days Are Evil” was released, along with its own appropriately moody video. Enation consists of Jackson, his brother Richard Lee Jackson on the drum, percussion and backup vocals, and Jonathan Thatcher on bass guitar and synthetic bass.
The Band Has Been Together Since 2003
The band has been together since 2003 and has released numerous albums. The prior album, “Anthems For The Apocalypse” was released in 2017 and they toured the United Kingdom with Echo & The Bunnymen in 2018. They performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London, which Jonathan remembers with fondness. He feels the new album is special though. He describes “Ultraviolet Empire” as a “throwback record”, one they played live in the studio and recorded.
For those fans who are not familiar with how sound recordings are done, once upon a time before technology was available for singers, record producers, and musicians to come in one at a time and build a recording layer by layer, everyone was in the studio at the same time and everything was recorded at the same time. So Jonathan’s verbiage “throwback record” is referring to how recordings were made in “the old days” – probably around the time he was born! The songs were all recorded in one take and by just letting the band play! “Throwback technology” might be a better term!
Jonathan Jackson Played Lucky Spencer From 1993-1999 and 2009-2011
Jonathan played Lucky on General Hospital from 1993-1999, and from 2009 -2011. In 2012 he joined the cast of another ABC program, the primetime series “Nashville” where he played Avery Barkley until the show canceled in 2016 with it moving to CMT, or Country Music Television and airing until 2018, when it was canceled there in July 2018. Jonathan has reprised the character of Lucky Spencer a few times on General Hospital, the most recent being in 2015 when he rescued the previously thought dead Jake Spencer (then played by James Nigbor) from Cassadine Island and delivers him back to his mother, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst). He then left again, with Lucky having last been living in Africa.
