General Hospital Alum Matt Cohen Set To Lead Hallmark Movie, ‘Made For Each Other’

Former General Hospital (GH) star Matt Cohen will make his debut in the new year on the Hallmark channel. Cohen is slated to star alongside actors Alexandra Turshen and Aaron O’Connell in the upcoming romance movie Made For Each Other.

Matt Cohen will star as a love interest to Alexandra Turshen, who plays a sculptor in the original movie. Turshen’s character sculpts the perfect man, played by Aaron O’Connell. After she gets what she wants she realizes her best friend, played by Cohen, is who she wants to be with all along.

Made for Each Other will premiere on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 9 p.m. as part of six films being released by Hallmark in the New Year. The six films are part of Hallmark’s “Loveuary” lineup, to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Matt Cohen left General Hospital behind in 2019 after sharing with fans that he needed to give his character as rest. The actor also shared that he became too comfortable in his daytime soaps role which made him uncomfortable.

Cohen hasn’t ruled out a return to General Hospital, however. Cohen, who played Dr. Griffin Munro for three years, left the series an his character in an opportune situation. “I did three years at the show. It was a great time and I had great fun playing the character, but I’m a guy who gets uncomfortable when he gets comfortable,” the actor said. “I need to give Griffin a little rest right now.”

While speaking with TV Inside at the time, Cohen went on to add, “There is no greater compliment to be paid to an actor than to have the possibility of a return. The fact that Frank [Valentini, the executive producer] and everybody over there at the network would even consider allowing that is a great thing.”

General Hospital Spoilers – Matt Cohen’s Career After GH

Since leaving General Hospital behind, Cohen has appeared in The Hillywood Show, His Secret Marriage and Holiday Date. In addition, he has also starred in the CW series Supernatural as the young John Winchester, an episode of Criminal Minds, has played a guest role on How To Get Away With Murder and appeared in Kings of Con.

Hallmark will air all six of the original Valentine-themed films in February 2023.
