General Hospital Alum Steve Burton Files For Divorce

General Hospital spoilers reveals GH alum Steve Burton (ex-Jason Morgan) has decided to make his separation from Sheree Gustin permanent. In documents obtained by TMZ, Burton says the couple separated on May 1. Burton cites “irreconcilable differences” after Gustin turned up pregnant by another man. Burton announced their separation after Gustin posted about her new pregnancy on Instagram.

General Hospital’s Steve opened up about his marriage problems when fans started congratulating him on a new baby. Burton had no intention of claiming another man’s child. According to Burton, his estranged spouse is pregnant but it is not his. Steve and Sheree were married in January 1999. Steve and Sheree share three children, Makena, 18, Jack, 16, and Brooklyn, 7. According to the divorce papers, Burton is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their children. Burton also wants the court to terminate any ability of either party to spousal support.

GH Spoilers: Burton Has Worked On Outside Projects As Well

Steve Burton has appeared in several films, video games, and tv shows. Steve provides the voice for the Kingdom Hearts video game franchise, as well as the Final Fantasy franchise. In 1998 Burton won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. After Burton went to The Young And The Restless, he won another Emmy in 2016. Burton had announced that he planned to spend many more years at General Hospital.

Unfortunately, Covid protocols changed that. After soap-opera production was shut down for months. When Covid vaccines were made available to everyone, some businesses mandated vaccines to cut down on the shutdowns caused by covid outbreaks. Burton applied for religious and work exemptions but both were denied.

General Hospital Spoilers: Life After General Hospital

General Hospital’s Burton is best known for his role as Jason on the popular soap. Burton had a brief stint on Days of Our Lives as Harris Michaels in 1988. Later Burton joined General Hospital and played the role of Jason from 1991 to 2012 before leaving to move to Tennessee. Later, Burton joined The Young and The Restless as Dylan McAvoy, Burton returned to G.H. in 2017 only to leave again in 2021 when he refused to comply with ABC’s vaccine mandate. Shortly thereafter Burton was approached by Days of Our Lives Executive about joining the cast of Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem Chapter 2. Burton has resurfaced as Harrison Michaels and is certainly up to no good.
