General Hospital spoilers reveal a new face has stepped into the role of Ethan Lovett, as actor Nathan Dean has officially left the ABC soap.
In fact, an actor has already been recast for the character! CTS has all the details below, so read on below to find out more.
Welcome To Port Charles, Christian Howard
General Hospital spoilers confirm that actor Christian Howard debuted as the new Ethan Lovett during the Monday, July 27 episode.
Dean has exited the role he originated back in 2009 and played on and off over the years.
With that said, Dean exited the role in 2012 during his initial run. He also appeared on the show briefly in 2013, 2015, and 2020.
This isn’t the first time a recast has played Ethan Lovett. Actor James Ryan was recast in the role in 2013 for some shows.
Dean returned to the ABC soap this past April to reprise his infamous Ethan Lovett role.
Shocking, But Not Surprising
Fans were buzzing during the Friday, July 24 episode fans noticed that Dean’s name no longer appeared in the closing credits and was no longer under contract with the daytime drama.
General Hospital viewers anticipated they’d still see Dean regularly; however, that does not appear to be the case.
As of this writing, no word from General Hospital or Dean regarding the actor’s departure.
Ethan is pivotal on the canvas right now, as he’s involved in the Baby Phoebe Wilson (Lucia and Luna Creighton) storyline and seems to be diving into a romance with Ava Jerome (Maura West).
Ethan is the son of the legendary Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) and Holly Sutton (Emma Samms).
While Dean will be missed, it looks like Ethan will continue to create chapters in Port Charles, moving forward.
What are your thoughts on Nathan Dean’s exit? Do you think Christian Howard will be a good replacement?
