General Hospital history

AMP in the post

General Hospital first began in 1963 and has been going ever since. This makes it the second longest-running soap opera in US history. Guiding Light was the longest running soap, but that series is no longer going.

General Hospital has been keeping many fans excited, sad, happy and more, as the writers know just how to make the perfect storylines to keep people glued to the screen. Having run for more than five decades, it is one of the four soap operas currently remaining on TV, with the others being The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless.

Keep watching General Hospital to see the latest changes on the ABC Network!
