General Hospital comings and goings reveal Emma Samms making her way back to the soap so we can finally learn what really happened to Holly Sutton.

The last we saw of Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) was two years ago when Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) got evidence that his wife was dead. Of course, this wasn’t real evidence but Robert still doesn’t know that and has been believing Holly was gone since 2020.

We do know that she was kidnapped and kept in a dark room with a security camera, but that was the last we even heard her name. Now comes news that Samms and Holly will be back on your GH screens in October.

As many fans know, Holly’s story had to be delayed due to Samms’ battle with COVID-19 and her struggles with Long COVID, which she says are still not over.

GH Spoilers – Emma Samms Makes Her PC Return

Samms was thrilled to share the news that she’d be finding a way to live with Long COVID and work in LA again. She normally lives in her native England.

“I can’t believe that it’s been 40 years since I first appeared on General Hospital and that, once again, I get to play the wonderful character of Holly Sutton,” Samms told Deadline. “No one is more interested in what’s happened to her since we saw her two years ago, being held captive by a mysterious villain, than me!”

Executive Producer Frank Valentini also chimed in with: “I am thrilled the wonderful Emma Samms will be returning to the canvas in October, so we can continue telling Holly’s story and the fans can finally see what happened after we learned she was alive and being held hostage.”

After the news broke, Samms took to Twitter to announce her return with simple sentiments.

“So excited! And so grateful to @valentinifrank for making this possible despite my ongoing Long COVID.”

Robert has had very little story since Holly was presumed dead and has since become Port Charles’ new DA, saving the day for Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) last week. Now, it looks like he will have a new adventure when Holly returns. Who wants to bet she’s being held hostage by Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy)?
