General Hospital Comings and Goings Emmy Winner Chad Brannon back As Alexander ‘Zander’ Smith

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that an epic comeback is on the horizon for fans of the Port Charles, NY based sudser. EW is reporting that Chad Brannon, who played Alexander “Zander” Smith from 2000-2004 begins filming scenes this week.

The handsome and talented actor starts filming on February 12 and fans will get their first glimpse of the character in March.

Brannon won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 2004 for his role as the troubled Zander.

Zander is the biological father of Cameron Webber (William Lipton) whose mom is Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst). Cameron was the result of a brief fling and is now living with Liz and his stepfather Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth).

Details of this blockbuster return are being closely held to the vest by TPTB. Did we mention that Zander is presumed dead?

Of course that’s nothing on the daytime genre landscape. For all we know Zander has come back alive and died another twelve times.

GH Spoilers – Zander Smith is Back

In lieu of solid deets about the character’s return, we can speculate about his comeback. It will undoubtedly rock Liz and Cam’s world. And what about Franco? He never was the most secure guy in the world, what happens when his wife’s ex returns, and no doubt wants to rekindle a relationship with his son? Does this mean Cam is going to Port Chuck U after all?

Not to mention that Franco is struggling with an inoperable brain tumor that has him acting all kinds of unstable.

General Hospital Spoilers – What Happens Next In Port Charles?

Zander showed up in Port Chuck as a drug dealer and along the way had an eye for the ladies, including of course Nurse Liz. Will his return put a crimp in Friz’s relationship, or will Zander even know who he is? After all being dead has a way of messing with one’s brain, maybe he has amnesia?

Speaking of amnesia will he be the one to find and return Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to his rightful place as crime lord of Port Charles? At one point Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) even tried to use Zander to make Sonny jealous!

Fun Fact: Chad Brannon returned to the ABC sudser in December of 2009 in a cameo as a character called Aaron!
