General Hospital Comings and Goings: Erika Slezak Daytime Emmy Winner Joins GH

General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate a familiar face is set to join the land of Port Charles, although she’ll be ‘new’ to the little town!

Six-time Daytime Emmy winner and soap legend, Erika Slezak, best known for her role in One Life to Live (OLTL), is slated to join the ABC soap soon.

As per Slezak’s fan club president, Walter Miller, the actress has signed a short-term contract with GH. Learn more about this developing story below.

Role Is Hush-Hush

As of this writing, Erika doesn’t know the character she’ll be playing or when she’s scheduled to debut; however, the statement from Miller indicates she’s very excited to be working with GH’s Executive Producer, Frank Valentini, once again, as well as the rest of the stellar cast.

For more than 40 years, Erika took center stage at OLTL, playing leading lady Viki Lord from 1971 until the very last show that aired in January 2012, after ABC canceled the daytime drama. She was also a part of the online version of OLTL when it played via Prospect Park in 2013.

Valentini and Erika worked together while he was executive producer at OLTL from 2003 to 2012. Valentini made his way to GH in 2012 and has been there ever since.

Reunited & It Feels So Good!

GH just loves casting former OLTL performers from the past. In addition to Valentini’s jump, Roger Howarth, who was once Todd Manning on OLTL, has played multiple roles on GH over the years (ex-Franco Baldwin, ex-Austin Gatlin-Holt), Michael Easton (OLTL’s ex-John McBain, GH’s ex-Silas Clay, ex-Hamilton Finn), Kristen Alderson (OLTL’s ex-Starr Manning, GH’s ex-Kiki Jerome), Hillary B. Smith (OLTL’s ex-Nora Buchanan), and Kassie DePaiva (OLTL’s ex-Blair Cramer).
